Make up tips and tricks
To get a dewy complexion you need clean, exfoliated skin. Gently cleanse your face thoroughly using a suitable cleanser for your skin type and apply an exfoliating facial scrub with your fingers all over your face (but avoid contact with your eye area). Wet your fingers with warm water and, using circular movements, massage your face for 60 seconds. Rinse well with warm water and pat your face dry with fresh cotton pads. Finish off by applying a light moisturising cream.
To remove dark rings under your eyes, apply a yellow-toned concealer from the inner corners to just beyond the dark circles with a concealer brush. Blend the concealer upwards towards the lower lash line. Cover any blemishes or spots elsewhere with a concealer stick and blend into your foundation. If you have oily skin, lightly apply a translucent powder over the concealer to make sure it doesn’t smudge.
Use a sheer light-coverage foundation in other areas. To create an even more smooth skin tone, apply a foundation primer and using a brush, lightly apply your foundation and blend carefully along your hair and jaw line.
Apply a pink-toned blusher to the highest points on the apples of your cheeks while you’re smiling, and blend to the outside edges. For a touch of evening glamour, lightly dust a light-reflecting powder on the cheekbones.
For smooth, kissable lips, exfoliate using a baby toothbrush and a light scrub. Apply a nonstick lip balm and pat off the excess with a tissue. To get the “bee-stung” look, apply a rosy shade (two shades darker than your blush) to your lips in very light layers. Finish with a coat of clear lipgloss.
For an ethereal and dreamy look, lightly sweep a pale grey colour across the eyelids from the lash line to the crease of the eye to the outer corner of the eyelid. Apply a delicate pastel colour from the crease to the brow bone, working as lightly as possible and fading the colour as it gets closest to the brow bone. To brighten your eyes, line the inside of your lids with white eye pencil and for a subtle sparkle, apply a shimmery silver eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes and in the area below the lash line. Finish off the look with a slick of black lengthening mascara for flirty lashes.
